Brief Overview:
Zacal Cat Collars was established in 2019. Inspired by our family cat Marley & our Dog Poppy. The humans behind Zacal Cat Collars are Luke & Gemma. We’ll explain more below.
Marley’s Story:
Marley came into our family at approx. 2 years old. We rescued Marley as he was straying in dense bramble bushes. He was full of fleas, very skinny, dirty face, no microchip & no collar. After a vet check, it was quickly established Marley was a stray and would love to be in a warm forever home!
With us having Poppy in our house and Poppy instincts was to chas cats, we were unable to keep Marley with us.
Instead, Luke asked Gemma’s relatives if they could look after Marley at their house for just two nights so we could sort something out . . . 13 years later and Marley was still king of the house!
It’s safe to say Luke’s reputation with the in-laws took a huge drop but he was soon forgiven for all the happy times Marley gave them over the years!
Marley went on to be Chief Meowdel for our brand, proudly testing and wearing our collars!
Poppy’s Story:
After finding Marley in the brambles, Poppy lived her life to the full. Poppy loved spending time with her humans and being outdoors on long walks.
After her walks you would find Poppy either snoozing or supervising her humans running Zacal Cat Collars – ensuring they were providing only the BEST customer service!
The Sad Part:
Sadly in November 2023 Poppy crossed over Rainbow bridge and exactly two weeks later to the day, hour and almost minute Marley left us and crossed Rainbow Bridge to join Poppy.
As you can imagine, it was a really difficult time both personally and to continue the business but we take great comfort in knowing that Poppy & Marley are back reunited again.
We also know they would have wanted us to continue providing safe collars for cats and spreading awareness.
Luke & Gemma:

Why we started Zacal Cat Collars:
After a few months in his new home, Marley started getting too comfortable and started bringing mice and birds back to his family.
With this, we started to look for a collar with a bell for him to wear and protect the wildlife. After spending days searching for a collar, we found stylish cat collars but they didn’t have a quick release buckle or they had a safe quick release buckle but they were very basic designs.
With this negative experience, we decided to do something about it and turn it into a positive. We created our own range of Cat Collars, ensuring all our collars were both stylish & most importantly had a quick release buckle, making them safe for cats!
Since starting in 2019 Zacal Cat Collars have grown to stock a range of over 250 designs and have gone on to sell over 75,000+ Cat Collars with retailers including Amazon, Just for Pets, Pet Stores and Pet boutiques! As well as many happy returning customers.
